Take a break from the bustle of Toronto and head into nature for a day. Visit Canada's oldest provincial park on a guided excursion. Get picked up from the meeting point and drive to Algonquin. Spend an enriching 6 hours at the park snowshoeing, hiking, spotting wildlife, canoeing, and swimming (depending on the time of the year, joining the tour). Spring – Moose watching and wildlife spotting time. We will hike Mizzy Lake Trail or similar trail (10 km, good for beginners and intermediate hikers). Summer/Fall – You can choose between hiking tour only or hiking and canoeing. On our hiking tour only, we will hike around 10 km/day and on our hiking and canoeing tour, we will hike 3 km, canoe for 1,5 hours, swim and relax on the beach. Winter – Strap on a pair of snowshoes and venture into the wilderness, leaving footprints in the untouched snow. Snowshoes are included. While there are many trails to choose from, we will pick one that offers the best lookout points.

Pinery Provincial Park is truly a unique place on the shores of the beautiful Lake Huron It protects the largest remaining tract of Oak Savanna and one of the largest freshwater coastal dune ecosystems in Ontario. We will be hiking through one of the many hiking trails in the park during our day trip. Our 2.6 km route takes us through the Oak Savanna to a gorgeous lookout point. After our hike, we will have leisure time on one of the most beautiful beaches in Ontario, where you will feel like you were in a tropical country!

On this adventure, we will hike “The Crack”- a famous 4 hour, 7km roundtrip trek ascending huge pink, grey and white granite/quartz rock formations. After getting through the crack, you arrive at an unforgettable panoramic lookout where several clear blue lakes can be seen framed by Georgian Bay jack pines. On our way back, we will also visit the French River Conservation Area, which features an interesting and accessible suspension bridge over the river. 6:45am – Departure from Christie Station. 11:00am – Arrival and registration at the park 11:15am – Begin our hike! Followed by time to relax with a beautiful view of the Georgian Bay. This is a good place to have your lunch. 4:30pm – Visit the French River 6:00pm – Dinner together at a local restaurant (not included) 9:00pm – Expected arrival time to Toronto, Christie Subway Station
