What to Expect When Visiting Fes, Fez-Meknès, Morocco

Day 1: Fes arrival to Airport
Stop At: Fes, Fes, Fes-Meknes
We will receive you at the airport gate with an air-conditioned car. Then, drive you towards the hotel / Riad in Fes to relax.

Day 2: Fes: Private Full-Day Sightseeing Tour
Stop At: Fes el-Bali, Fes 30110 Morocco
Your professional Guide will pick you up from your lovely Hotel/Riad to examine the local life of middle age. In order to discover one of the world’s most ancient and beautiful cities.
First, we will visit the fascinating Royal palace, to see its tremendous giant 7 brass Gates. That has matching knockers, covered with intricate patterns and majestically carved in copper. The tremendous Gates are perfectly surrounded by mesmerizing Moroccan tile work or Zellige. It is also carved with cedar wood giving the perfect example of the authentic Moroccan architecture.
Next, continue our Fes city tour by moving to “El Mellah”, the first Moroccan Jewish Quarter. In order to see a different world of authentic streets and marvelous little shops. EL Mellah has also a large square where you will find a huge range of all sorts of entertainment. Your personal driver will next introduce you to the charming Jnane Sbil Gardens. In order to get some breezy air and see the captivating centered Moroccan-Style Fountains. You will also get to discover the magnificent defensive towers of Fes. That is to know more about the ancient history of the Moroccan army and their authentic old arms. Break for lunch.
After that, you will wander through the old Medina entering from its most beautiful Royal Blue Gate “ Bab Boujloud”. That is to get amazed by its royal mosaic tiles giving the perfect example of old Moroccan. The Majestic gate is beautifully decorated with exotic blue Tiles and fascinating marbles. That perfectly turns to blue at the other side of the mesmerizing entry.
Your Multilingual Guide will also introduce you to the spectacular Madrasas (Islamic Schools). That is by visiting “Medersa Bouanania,” “Medersa Al-Attarine”, to see its most unique designs of fancy Moroccan fountains, and spectacular Arab-Moroccan Architecture. Next, continue towards The University of Al Quaraouiyine, the oldest still-functioning one in the world, founded in 859 AD by Fatima Al-Fihri.
We’ll pursue our fes city tours towards “Mausuleum Moulay Idriss II”. It is the sacred Shrine of Idriss II; the founder of Fes the old city. As we discover a huge part of the spiritual Moroccan culture. The Following stop would be in “Nejjarine Museum” of wooden arts & crafts. That is to get stunned by the most beautiful Moroccan decorated tiles and incredible handmade items.
After a tempting typical Moroccan dish, your multilingual Guide would take you towards the Tanneries of Fes. It is where you would discover “Chouara Tannery”, Africa’s oldest and largest Tannery, where real leather is beautifully and naturally shapes and color. That is to give fascinating Moroccan handmade clothes, bags, purses, and a huge range of majestic Moroccan Handicrafts.
Our last stop would be in Merenid Tombs. That is in order to get the most beautiful and dramatic panoramic view over the epic old Medina. At the end of fes city tour, our driver will drop you off at your Hotel/Riad. Then, spend the night in a beautiful traditional Hotel or riad in Fez city.

Day 3: Azrou, Ifrane, Midelt, Ziz Valley, Errachidia. Merzouga
Stop At: Ifrane, Ifrane, Fes-Meknes
Starting with a 7:00 AM pickup from your accommodation. During our trip we will see Immouzer Kander which is a small berber tourist town at the headwaters of the biggest water sources in Morocco. Then we will carry on to Ifrane that is considered as a magical mountain town and one of the most beautiful cities in Morocco which looks like little Switzerland. Your personal driver will introduce you to some incredible charming places and marvelous landscapes, as you find the most captivating flowing rivers all over this charming town. Continue to Azrou.

Stop At: Azrou, Azrou, Meknes-Tafilalet Region
We will move to Azrou, an old Berber town with the largest cedar forest in Africa. Where you can enjoy your free time in the breezy forest to wander through the green forest. You will be free to take some memorable pictures

Stop At: Midelt, Midelt, Meknes-Tafilalet Region
Arriving to Midelt, a Berber village located in the middle Atlas mountain, we will stop by a local restaurant for lunch.

Stop At: Errachidia, Errachidia, Meknes-Tafilalet Region
Driving through the Middle Atlas Mountains, and driving further south you will dramatically start to notice the shifting change from green and mountainous to dry and desert. However, Ziz river near Errachidia brings life to what could have been inhabitant and dead. We will stop in panoramic view point over Ziz valley, an oasis of palm trees in contrast of red desert.

Stop At: Merzouga, Merzouga, Draa-Tafilalet
Upon arrival to hotel’s Merzouga, and after a welcoming tea. You have a pool inside hotel. Then you will take a delicious dinner meal after that you can stay relaxing in your comfortable hotel.

Day 4: Merzouga. the black volcanic rocks of marble fossils. Nomad family. Khamlia village. Lake Dayt Sraji. Camp Desert.
Stop At: Merzouga Desert, Merzouga Morocco
On the second day after breakfast in the Auberge, you will have a tour of the dunes by 4×4 allowing you to visit the black volcanic rocks of marble fossils, visit a nomad family living in tent, visit to khamlia village famous with black people and entertainment with their spiritual music of Gnawa, and visit the lake Dayte Sarji that forms in springtime which attracts pink flamingos and wildlife. Then you will have a break for lunch in Merzouga or Hassi Labied. After lunch, you will see the canal irrigation system and have a walk on the oasis located on the foot of the dunes. Continue to your hotel for relax and get ready for a ride your camel gently to enjoy the sunset. Arriving the desert golden dunes. Overnight accommodation in a tent and dinner under blanket of stars. Furthermore; around the camp fire with some local music played live by the local camp team, spend the night in a comfortable camp in the middle of the dunes.

Day 5: Merzouga. Rissani. Tinjdad. Gorges Todgha. Valley Dades
Stop At: Merzouga, Merzouga, Draa-Tafilalet
Early morning, we’ll enjoy Sun rising in the desert of Merzouga. back to our hotel for delicious Breakfast & shower.

Stop At: Rissani, Rissani, Meknes-Tafilalet Region
We will drive through Rissani stopping to visit and discover the culture of this town visiting Zawiya Moulay Ali Ash-Sharif established to honor Alawite dynasty founder.
Duration: 30 minutes
Pass By: Tinejdad, Morocco
At the entrance to Tinejdad, we will visit the most famous tradition berber place which is ksar El Khorbat, built at the end of the 19th century, has kept its architecture and the atmosphere of yesteryear that inhabits it.
Here there is no concrete or brick construction, at least for the moment, the traditions and original materials are scrupulously preserved.
Stop At: Todgha Gorge, R 703 near the town of Tinerhir, Tinerhir 45520 Morocco
We’ll entertain with orange high cliffs of Todra Gorges. The peaks rise up to 980 feet (300 meters) above the Todra, which meanders from its source in the High Atlas Mountains. The river has since dried up, leaving only the imagination to picture the powerful natural forces that once carved this region Afterward, we will take a break for lunch in local restaurant.

Dades Valley is scattered with oases, palm groves and elaborate kasbahs. The valley itself is made lush and green by the Dades River, which rises from the High Atlas Mountains before emptying into Morocco’s largest river, Draa. The water of Dades provide life for a variety of almond, fig, walnut and birch trees on the valley floor offering a spectacular contrast to the earthen-colored rocky formations rising from the valley floor. In order to spend the night in a lovely Guesthouse along Dades River.

Day 6: Gorges Dades. Kelaa Mgouna. Ouarzazate
Stop At: Dades Gorges, R704 Atlas Mountains, Boumalne Dades 45350 Morocco
On the following morning, we will have a tempting breakfast. Then, start moving towards Kelaa M’gouna.

Stop At: El Kelaa M’gouna, El Kelaa M’gouna, Souss-Massa
Morocco’s most romantic town. This town constitutes an economic and social center for the region, for its very animated nature. Kalaa M’Gouna is most known for the “Roses Festival” which takes place in the city every year in May.

Stop At: Ouarzazate, Ouarzazate, Draa-Tafilalet
We will cross the Berber village of Skoura, to finally arrive in Ouarzazate in the late evening. Spend the third day in a lovely Guesthouse in Ouarzazate with the most captivating views of the Atlas Mountains.

Day 7: Ouarzazate. Films studio. Kasbah Taourirt. Ait Ben Haddou. Tizi ntichka.Marrakech
Stop At: Ouarzazate, Ouarzazate, Draa-Tafilalet
After a tempting local breakfast, we’ll have a walk through the high walls of Ouarzazate. We will introduce you to its colorful Souks and authentic buildings before heading to its Tremendous Film Studio. It is where some great Hollywood masterpieces were filmed as Game of Thrones, Gladiator, Babel, The Jewel of the Nile. Also, we will visit Kasbah Taourirt is one of the most impressive of its kind in Morocco. Kasbah Taourirt was considered the largest Kasbah in Morocco and today is classified as a historical monument giving tribute to the Glaoui. Taourirt is one of the most beautiful Kasbahs in Morocco. In the past, it was a strategic location controlled by the Glaoui for the Saharan Caravan Route to West Africa

Stop At: Ait Ben Haddou, Ait Ben Haddou, Souss-Massa
Next, leave Ouarzazate, the golden Gate of the Sahara towards Ait Ben haddou, the largest Kasbah in Africa. This beautiful Kasbah is a fortified Ksar (Royal Palace) with impressive buildings and spectacular mud houses. The majestic Ait Ben Haddou gives a perfect example of the marvelous ancient Arab-architecture. We will have some time to meet the locals, and have a tempting Berber meal for lunch.

Stop At: Tizi n Tichka, Imlil Village, Ouarzazate 45000 Morocco
Then, cross the high Atlas Mountains through the winding passes of Tizi N Tichka, admiring the captivating Mountains views and the refreshing breeze.

Stop At: Marrakech, Marrakech, Marrakech-Safi
The last stop would be The Red Marrakech. It is where we will drop you off at your hotel. Then will spend our night at the hotel.
