Stop At: Azemmour, Azemmour, Casablanca-Settat

Azemmour is situated on the river Oued Er-rbia and is also near the ocean. The city has a rich history of Jewish life as well as its time under Portuguese rule from 1513-1541.
Azemmour has inspired many Moroccan artists over the decades, some of whom have chosen to live here. Life in Azemmour is still traditional, and the surroundings provide plenty of artistic inspiration courtesy of a crumbling 16th-century medina squeezed between the Oud Er Rbia (Mother of Spring River) and the ocean, with fields spread between.

Stop At: El Jadida, El Jadida, Casablanca-Settat

The Portuguese Fortified City of Mazagan was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004, on the basis of its status as an “outstanding example of the interchange of influences between European and Moroccan cultures” and as an “early example of the realisation of the Renaissance ideals integrated with Portuguese construction technology”. According to UNESCO, the most important buildings from the Portuguese period are the cistern, and the Manueline Church of the Assumption.

The city is expanding as of 2014, partly as a result of increased activity at the nearby Jorf Lasfar port.
