When in Morocco, you must visit the city of Marrakech. Over the centuries, Marrakech has been a desert oasis, military headquarters, a religious center and the playground of a sultan. It was little more than a remote outpost before the Almoravid Berber leader Youssef bin Tashafin, cousin of the sultan, and his wife Zeinab founded the red city in 1062 A.D, become today a weekend getaway for jet-set travelers from all over the world.
