10.00am Fes Tasting Tour starts by picking you up from your Hotel , and drive you through the city’s incredible ramparts and panoramic views. First, we will be visiting the marvellous Royal Palace, with its tremendous Seven Gates, perfectly made with the most captivating copper, adorned with creative marble work, spectacular Mosaic, and stunning Moroccan tiles. Next, we will move to the old Jewish Quarter “Mellah”, and “Jnane Sbil Gardens”, to have some fresh air and admire the beautiful centred Moroccan fountains, perfectly made to represent the extraordinary Moroccan charm.
The following destination on our Fes cultural and tasting Tour would be the traditional Ceramic school where we would be learning the art of tile mosaic pottery, to make your own unique captivating Moroccan art pieces.
Afterwards, we will enter the old Medina walking through the alluring colourful narrow streets and tasting the local delicacies of the Fassis people; You will get to try the traditional Moroccan street food including dried meats, milawi, harsha, briouats, spicy sardines, traditional cakes, soups, olives and much more. Our Fes Food Tasting Tour continues through the narrow alleyways of the Medina discovering the largest and oldest Tannery in Africa, The impressive “Chouara Tannery”, where real leather is being naturally shaped and coloured to give the most mesmerizing leather items, as bags,wallets, Belts, Jackets…etc.
Moving to The Medersa Bouanania, the old Islamic Schools built in the 14th century, where you get amazed by the fascinating classical Arab-architecture and know more about the ancient islamic way of teaching. We will stop in a traditional restaurant in the Old Medina, to have a local Fassi dish for lunch feeling the history of the city in the epic explosion of unique flavors. In the afternoon, Our Team would introduce you to traditional local cooperatives, where you would discover the interesting secrets and ways to make the most beautiful Moroccan Handicrafts.
