Volubilis is a partially excavated Berber-Roman city in Morocco that is located close to the city of Meknes. It is speculated that Volubilis served as the capital of the kingdom of Mauretania, at the very least beginning during the reign of King Juba II. It’s possible that Gilda served as the capital of the Kingdom in the time before Volubilis.
