Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech / Dades Gorges

Stop At: Tizi n Tichka, Imlil Village, Ouarzazate 45000 Morocco
After having breakfast, you will start driving from Marrakech over the stunning Atlas Mountains. We will pass the highest point at Tichka Pass (2260m), where we will stop for some tea and to enjoy the view. The whole way is surrounded by stunning nature and old berber villages. You will already get in touch with their unique way of living.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Ait Ben Haddou, Ait Ben Haddou, Souss-Massa
After passing the mountains we will stop in the old Kasbahs of Ait Ben Haddou, which is an UNESCO world heritage. Different movies are produced in this area, f. e. Game of Thrones. You will get a tour through the Kasbah ending in a Restaurant for having lunch.

Stop At: Ouarzazate, Ouarzazate, Draa-Tafilalet
After that we drive further to Ouarzazate where you can visit the Cinema Museum.

Stop At: Dades Gorges, R704 Atlas Mountains, Boumalne Dades 45350 Morocco
The road from Ouarzazate to Dades is also called “Road of 1000 Kasbahs” as you find old castles all the way through the different valleys. The most famous one is Roses Valley known for it’s rose oil and cosmetics. You will arrive in Dades in the afternoon to spend the night in a relaxed Hotel. Dades is marked by incredible green nature and a big river with unique mountains that will definitely calm you down after a day full of experiences.

Day 2: Dades Gorges

Stop At: Dades Gorges, R704 Atlas Mountains, Boumalne Dades 45350 Morocco
The 2nd day you will spend in the area of Dades. You can arrange this day as you like and choose between different attractions. You can take hikes to the nomads in the unique canyons, also called the Monkey Fingers, and swim in the Gorge. You can take a short trip to the village Mesmrir to enjoy the view. You can take a cooking class to learn how to make Moroccan food as Tagine or Couscous in the traditional way to take some different kind of souvenir back to your friends and family. If you are interested in getting Henna Tattoos, this will be your chance. The most important part will be to get in touch with the locals and the old and unique culture of the Amazigh people.

Day 3: Dades Gorges / Merzouga

Stop At: Gargantas del Todra, Tinerhir 45800 Morocco
On the 3rd day you will start your way to the Desert of Merzouga. Your first stop will be Tinghir, a bigger city, which is the last big city before entering the desert. Close to this city is a real natural spectacle, the Todra Gorge, a beautiful Oasis. Between all these dry areas and mountains, the Todra Gorge is marked by a big river which makes the gorge completely green. The inhabitants of the villages around come here to calm down and relax, to meet friends, to buy things and get water for their animals. It is a good location to get closer to the Amazigh people.

Stop At: Merzouga, Merzouga, Draa-Tafilalet
After this you will keep driving to the Desert. Once you arrived there, you will ride on real camels into the desert through the highest dune, called Erg Chebbi. If you prefer to not ride on a camel we have other options of entering the desert as well. This night, that you will spend in the desert under the big sky and hundreds of stars will for sure be a night that you will never forget. You will sleep in a luxury camp with nothing than sand and silence around you.

Day 4: Merzouga

Stop At: Khamlia, Khamlia, Draa-Tafilalet
The 4th day you will spend in Merzouga and visit the Village Khamlia close to it to get some cultural experience of how people life in the desert. How they survive the heat in the summer and the cold in the winter, how they cook, how they get food even if there is no water around. The Gnaoua people and its music are from this area.

Stop At: Rissani, Rissani, Meknes-Tafilalet Region
After that you can explore a village called Rissani, which is popular for his souk for spices and carpets from the desert.

Stop At: Erg Chebbi, Erg Chebbi, Meknes-Tafilalet Region
After that you can walk around all by yourself to get lost in the endless sand. You can explore the dunes, do some sandboarding or other activities and swim a bit in the pool of the luxury Hotel right next to the desert, where you will spend the night.

• Lunch: You will be able to try something very traditional vor this area: so called “Medfouna”, also known as Berber Pizza.

Day 5: Merzouga / Fès

Stop At: Ifrane, Ifrane, Fes-Meknes
On the 5th day you will keep driving up to Fès. On the way to Fès you will pass by a village called Ifrane that fascinates with a different kind of architecture. The houses look very similar to the houses in the European Alps and the area is also a good place in the winter to go skiing.

Stop At: Medina of Fez, Fes 30000 Morocco
Once you arrive in Fès you will get to your Hotel located directly inside of the Medina to relax. In the evening you can explore the unique Medina of Fes. Fes is known for the big tanneries where the produce all kind of leather. The city is really old and also has the oldest still used university of the world. Especially the Bab Boujloud (Blue Gate) is stunning.

Day 6: Fès / Meknes

Stop At: Medina of Fez, Fes 30000 Morocco
On the 6th day you will spend the morning and noon in Fes. A guide will bring you to the big tanneries to see how leather is made and how they color it. Fès will definetly be the best place for shopping anything that includes leather.

Stop At: Meknes, Meknes, Fes-Meknes
After exploring Fès you will keep driving to Meknes, a city that is mostly forgotten by tourists but historical and cultural extremely interesting. Meknes is one of the four royal cities (Marrakech, Fès, Rabat, Meknes) but Meknes is the one that still looks a lot like it does decades ago.

Stop At: Volubilis, Morocco
Another highlight about Meknes: there is an old berber village located close to it, which is mostly ruins now. You will get to know more things about the history of Morocco here.

Day 7: Meknes / Chefchaouen

Stop At: Chefchaouen, Chefchaouen, Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima
On the 7th day you will drive further to the north to Chefchaouen, the Blue Pearl of Morocco. Located in the middle of green forest this small village is completely blue painted! An incredible place to calm down after all the experiences you made the days before. The north of Morocco is marked by Spanish and Portuguese influences. The architecture and the food are different. The inhabitants, also Amazigh people but from another tribe, have another kind of mind set. You can take short hikes around Chefchaouen to some waterfalls and enjoy some tea enjoying the great view over the blue houses.

Day 8: Chefchaouen / Assilah

Stop At: Puerto de Assilah, Asilah 90050 Morocco
On the 8th day you will keep traveling west over the mountains to Assilah, a small village at the Atlantic coast, which is known to be the place for vacation for the Moroccans. The village is marked by its Art Festival in August where Artists from all over the world decorate all the white walls. You can spend the day on the beach to relax. Duration: 5 hours

Day 9: Assilah / Rabat

Stop At: Rabat, Rabat, Rabat-Sale-Kenitra
On the 9th day you will travel to Rabat, the Capital of Morocco to enjoy the mix between young enthusiasm and the old historic and cultural landmarks. You will experience a big gap between the modern living younger generation, studying, traveling, meeting other nationalities, getting in touch with different cultures and the traditional living older generation that lives in Rabat for decades. You will be able to enjoy a traditional Hammam with body scrub and a massage.

Day 10: Rabat / Marrakech

Stop At: Casablanca, Casablanca, Casablanca-Settat
On your last day of your experience you will travel back to Marrakech. On the way there you will be able to make a stop in Casablanca to visit the biggest mosque of North Africa which you can visit even if you are not moslem. The rest of Casablanca is mostly offices, skyscrapers and big firms.

You will arrive to Marrakech in the afternoon. We will drop you off at your hotel after some last tea together on one of the terraces in the
big square.
