Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate
Pass By: Marrakech, Marrakech, Marrakech-Safi
The day starts early as we will have a long way to go before the day is over. We starting heading towards Ouarzazare and as soon as we exit the city barren landscapes unfold in front of our eyes. We will drive thought small villages then after about an hour drive we will start climbing towards the Tizi n’Tiska pass, the highest in Morocco. A stop here is mandatory to stretch our legs and because the view is simply amazing. We will then continue towards Ouarzazate. Our next stop will be AÏT Benhaddou, the best preserved desert Kasbah in the
country and a UNESCO site. Visited everyday by scores of tourists it is really an amazing architectonic complex which will be described to us with more detailed information by the local guide who will meet us here. When the visit is over don’t forget to tip the guide. Lunch will be next in a nearby restaurant. After lunch we pass through Ouarzazate without stopping for the next 110 km, we cross the lovely lush Skoura valley and drive straight to the dramatic Dadès Gorges, a geology wonder. After the visit to the gorge we will drive to a nearby hotel that will be out overnight accommodation. Dinner and entertainment will await us at the end of this long day.

Day 2: Ouarzazate back to Marrakech
Pass By: Ouarzazate, Ouarzazate, Draa-Tafilalet
We will wake up to a typical Berber breakfast and then we will head back to Ouarzazate where the day before we did not stop that will be the bulk of our visits today. We will visit Kasbah Taourirt, a fortified citadel with almost 300 rooms and a maze of passageways, a huge complex
connected to the outside just by a small doorway. Built in the 19th century by a powerful local family who had control over the caravans’ commercial routes this impressive complex was no doubt en effective display of the clan’s power and wealth. Accross from Kasbah Taourirt is the Ouarzazate Film Museum. After the visit to the museum we will have lunch at a local restaurant.
The afternoon will be dedicated to the visit of the Cinema Studios. Ouarzazate is indeed well known as the Hollywood of Africa with the first studios first established in 1983, attracting the film industry with low labour cost and political stability. You can choose to go on a guided tour at the Atlas Studios, CLA studios or both time permitting, to learn more and see the settings of famous movies filmed here. These visits conclude the daily activities and we are now ready to head back to Marrakech.
