Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – Aït Ben Haddou – Draa Valley – Zagora – Erg Lihoudi Dunes
Pass By: High Atlas Mountains, 40020 Morocco
This memorable trip starts with the scenic drive from Marrakech over the Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2’260 m), where you can spot the traditional Berber villages with its inhabitants working and chatting at the roadside.
Stop At: Ait Ben Haddou, Ait Ben Haddou, Souss-Massa
Shortly before the desert capital Ouarzazate, you have the opportunity to visit the famous Kasbah Aït-Ben-Haddou, the fortified clay city with its numerous Ksars and Kasbahs, where several famous movies such as Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and Prince of Persia have been shot. Enjoy a guided visit with a local guide.

Pass By: Anti-Atlas Mountains, Morocco
After crossing the vast Anti-Atlas mountains, you arrive at the green and peaceful Draa Valley which is famous for its huge date groves and henna fields.
Stop At: Zagora, Zagora, Souss-Massa
Now it is time for the desert! Zagora is the last city before the real wilderness starts.

Stop At: Tamegroute, Valle du Daraa, Zagora Morocco
Along the way, we stop at a Saadian town of the 16th century which is called Tamegroute. There, we are able to visit an old coran library and a subterranean Kasbah.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: M’Hamid, M’Hamid, Souss-Massa
Upon arrival at the dunes of Erg Lihoudi, you’ll meet your camel driver and head to the desert on top of your friendly camel while the sun sinks below the horizon. Just before dark, you will arrive at the Sahara Desert Camp where you can settle in your private tent. A traditional dinner is served and you can spend the night watching for shooting stars or dance around the camp fire to the beat of the desert drums.

Day 2: Erg Lihoudi Dunes – Zagora – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Telouet Kasbah – Marrakech
Stop At: M’Hamid, M’Hamid, Souss-Massa
Today, you can get up early to enjoy the first rays of sunlight over the desert. Enjoy your breakfast in the camp and hop on your 4×4 for the ride back to civilization.

Stop At: Ouarzazate, Ouarzazate, Draa-Tafilalet
On our way back through the Draa Valley in direction Marrakech we’ll stop in Ouarzazate for lunch and sightseeing in the Kasbah Taourirt or in the movie museum. The city of Ouarzazate with its film making studios hosts a lot of international film productions and is also known as «Hollywood of Morocco».

Stop At: Telouet Kasbah, Telouet Morocco
After leaving Ouarzazate, you take a detour to the bizzare Telouet Kasbah which once belonged to the great Glaoui family and has a stratetic position with a fantastic view. Nowadays, it is fast crumbling into the red earth, but still an extraordinary site to visit.

Afterwards, we’re heading back to Marrakech and your Hotel/Riad over the Atlas Mountains.
