Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech-High Atlas-Ait Ben Haddou-Ouarzazate-Dráa Valley-Zagora-Mhamid
Stop At: High Atlas Mountains, 40020 Morocco
Depart from Marrakech to travel through the High Atlas mountains through the Tichka pass (at 2260 meters of altitude) – the highest pass in Morocco, with beautiful panoramic views of the mountains and valleys with a winding road, beautiful landscapes with different colors and Berber villages along the way. We will make several short stops along the High Atlas to take photos, stretch our legs, etc.

Stop At: Ait Ben Haddou, Ait Ben Haddou, Souss-Massa
Visit of the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. The latter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the best preserved and most spectacular kasbahs in Morocco. This place is famous, above all, for Hollywood films, since it was used as a set for films such as Gladiator, the Kingdom of Heaven, Asterix and Obelix etc …

Pass By: Ouarzazate 45000, Morocco
Panoramic visit of Ouarzazate, located on a large plateau, stands out as the administrative center of the entire Drâa Valley. The kasbah of Taourit stands out and the movie studios where countless films have been recorded.

Stop At: Draa Valley, Zagora 45600 Morocco
We leave Ouarzazate and the Dráa Valley begins, 200 km of palm groves that make this one of the most beautiful routes in Morocco. We will be able to observe the contrast of green colors of the palm groves and ocher of its thousands of kasbahs that we will find throughout this Valley.
We will make several short stops along the route as in Agdz to observe the entire panoramic view of the Valley.

Pass By: Zagora, Zagora, Souss-Massa
We arrive at Zagora, known as the gates of the desert, the desert that we can find is hammada or stone desert.
Pass By: Tagounite, Tagounite, Souss-Massa
About 65 kms from Zagora is Tagounite, the penultimate town in the Dráa Valley. Formerly called Ktawa, it encompasses what is the town of Tagounite and 65 kasbhs scattered throughout the Draa Valley.
The petroglyphs and burial mounds of Foum R Jaam and Foum Tidri stand out. In this circuit it is impossible to see it due to lack of time.
Stop At: M’Hamid, M’Hamid, Souss-Massa
About 30 kms from Tagounite we reach Mhamid, the last village in the Drâa Valley where the asphalt ends, the N9 road and the tracks begin towards the Great Dunes of Erg Chegaga.
Between Tagounite and Mgamid we find the dunes of Erg Lihoudi or desert of the Jews. Without the first Saharan dunes that we can find in this area before reaching Erg Chegaga.
We will arrive at the hotel where we will have dinner a typical dish of the desert gastronomy. Accommodation.

Day 2: Mhamid-Sacred Oasis-Great Dunes of Erg Chegaga
Stop At: L’oasis Sacree, El Gouera Morocco
After breakfast we go to the Great Dunes of Erg Chegaga. About 2 hours on Offroad tracks crossing areas of dunes or Erg, hammada or stone desert, river areas … until you reach the Sacred Oasis, a succession of palm trees in the middle of an Oasis where a stream of water runs throughout the year and where the nadas lead their flocks to water.

Stop At: Erg Chigaga، Morocco
After about two hours of driving from Mhamid we reached the Great Dunes of Erg Chegaga, the sea of sand. It is the largest group of dunes in the region with a height of up to 300 meters and an extension of 40 km that act as a natural border with Algeria.
We will see the sunset among the dunes on the back of dromedary and we will enjoy a delicious dinner of Moroccan gastronomy.
We spend the night in a traditional haima.

Day 3: Erg Chegaga-Lake Iriki-Foum Z Guid-Tazenakh-High Atlas-Marrakech
Stop At: Foum Zguid, Foum Zguid, Guelmim-Oued Noun
After breakfast among the dunes we leave for Marrakech. We will pass through the Iriki Dry Lake, a large esplanade surrounded by mountains whose landscape is fantastic. In various periods of the year it carries water.
We follow the old offroad tracks of Paris-, Dakar about 100 kms (3 hours of trip approx). Throughout this nomadic zone we can find numerous fossils and meteorites. All over this area the Saudis came to hawk hunting.
We arrive at Foum Z Guid, an old military post where we again take the asphalt.
We will make several short stops to take photos, stretch our legs, etc.

Pass By: Tazenakht, Tazenakht, Souss-Massa
After passing Foum Z Guid, we arrive at Tazenakht, an important center of Ougda carpet weaving, characterized by its orange weave.
Possibility of visiting a carpet cooperative if the traveler demands it.
Pass By: High Atlas Mountains, 40020 Morocco
We leave Tazenakh behind and again cross the High Atlas to finish in Marrakech.
We will make short stops along the route to take photos, stretch our legs, etc.
