Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Telouet – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Pass By: High Atlas Mountains, 40020 Morocco
This memorable trip starts with the scenic drive from Marrakech over the Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2’260 m), where you can spot the traditional Berber villages with its inhabitants working and chatting at the roadside. We can stop in a local co-operative run by women who extract the Argan oil from the trees and discover how it is processed into cooking oil and cosmetics. You can taste and buy the products if you like.
Stop At: Telouet Kasbah, Telouet Morocco
Continue through the breathtaking landscape to Telouet. This fortress was occupied by Thami el Glaoui before he was expelled by independence efforts. One section has unfortunately disintegrated into red sand, but you can still visit the beautiful rooms with mosaic tiles and wood carvings. Visit the Kasbah together with a local guide.

Stop At: Ait Ben Haddou, Ait Ben Haddou, Souss-Massa
Shortly before the desert capital Ouarzazate, you have the opportunity to visit the famous Kasbah Aït-Ben-Haddou, the fortified clay city with its numerous ksars and kasbahs, where several famous movies such as Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and Prince of Persia have been shot.

Stop At: Taourirt Kasbah, Avenue Mohammed V, Ouarzazate 45000 Morocco
After your lunch break in a typical restaurant in Aït-Ben-Haddou or Ouarzazate, you can visit the old kasbah of Ouarzazate named Taourirt or have a look at the movie museum just on the other side of the road.

Stop At: El Kelaa M’gouna, El Kelaa M’gouna, Souss-Massa
Continue along the road until Kelaa M’Gouna, the center of the Rose Valley. Here, we’ll make a stop for a coffee or tea, and you have the possibility to visit one of the local women’s cooperations, where you can buy beauty products of Rose water. After we drive further to the Dades Valley, where we stay overnight.

Continue your journey through the Valley of 1’000 Kasbahs to the Dades Valley, where we stay overnight.

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Saghro Mountains – Nkob – Draa Valley – Zagora – Erg Chigaga
Stop At: Jbel Saghro, Morocco
Today, you will leave the Dades valley and take a small way through the Saghro-Mountains, a region secluded from the “big tourism”. You can explore beautiful landscapes and maybe even visit a Nomad family to have some tea and see how they live with their kettle.
If you like to, you have the possibility to do some charity and buy food or children’s toys for example to give direct help to the nomad families.

Stop At: Nkob, Nkob, Souss-Massa
Have lunch in Nkob, overlooking the impressive Draa Valley with its huge palm groves.

Stop At: Tamgrout, Tamgrout, Souss-Massa
Along the way, we stop at a Saadian town of the 16th century which is called Tamegroute. There, we are able to visit an old coran library and a subterranean Kasbah together with a local guide.
Tamegroute is also famous for its pottery shops.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: M’Hamid, M’Hamid, Souss-Massa
M’hamid is the end of the Draa valley as well as the end of civilization. We’re passing through Ouled Driss with its old Kasbah and then taking the 4×4 piste through the desert. We’ll arrive in your desert camp before sunset. Hop on a camel and walk at the desert pace along the dunes with its diverse colors.

Stop At: Erg Chigaga، Morocco
Settle in your private tent and drink some mint tea before the traditional dinner is served. You can spend the night watching for shooting stars or dance around the camp fire to the beat of the desert drums.

Day 3: Erg Chigaga Dunes – Iriki – Foum Zguid – Anti Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

Today, you can get up early to enjoy the first rays of sunlight over the desert. Enjoy your breakfast in the camp before the journey with the 4×4 car starts.

Stop At: Iriki, Morocco
Discover the the old Paris-Dakar road to Foum Zguid and cross the Iriki lake, which is a temporary wet land during rain periods. In this national park you’ll have the chance to spot some wild animals like lizards, snakes, gazelles and even hyenas with a little luck.

Stop At: Tazenakht, Morocco
Lunch will be served in the berber village Taznakht. This small town is famous for its berber carpet cooperations. You are welcome to attend a detailed demonstration of how the women of the area are producing the colorfully masterpieces which can also bring some oriental flair to your house.

Stop At: Marrakech, Marrakech, Marrakech-Safi
After lunch along the way, we’re heading back to Marrakech and your Hotel/Riad over the Anti and High Atlas Mountains.
Evening arrival in Marrakech and drop off at your accommodation in Marrakech city or the Medina.
