A trip to the desert in Morocco is not complete without a camel trek in the dunes. For those who are fascinated by the caravans which crossed the African deserts between mythical cities transporting wanted products like salt, this is the opportunity to feel like a nomad for a few moments.
Itinerary
Day 1: marrakech – Rose valley
Stop At: Ait Ben Haddou, Ait Ben Haddou, Souss-Massa
After picking you up from the hotel or riad where you are staying, we will head south towards Ouarzazate. On the way we will cross the amazing landscapes of the Atlas through the incredible port of Tizi n’Tichka, 2,260 meters high.
Halfway we will arrive at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the most surprising fortified city in Morocco, a set of films such as Gladiator or The Kingdom of Heaven. Continuing the route we will arrive at Ouarzazate, where we will see the Kasbah of Taourirt.
Taking the Road of the Thousand Kasbahs towards Skoura, and from here we will cross the Valley of the Roses to finally reach the Dades Gorges, where we will stay.

Day 2: Rose valley – Merzouga Desert
Stop At: Merzouga Desert, Merzouga Morocco
After breakfast we will set off towards the Dades Valley and cross the incredible Todra Gorges, where we will stay until lunchtime.
With our energies restored, we will head towards Merzouga and cross the Palm Grove of Jorf (where the best dates come out) and Erfoud, a small town where you can visit a marble workshop.
Once in Merzouga we will leave the 4X4 to enter the desert on the back of a camel in search of the camp where we will spend the night. Here, in the silence of the desert, we will enjoy one of the most authentic dinners in all of Morocco.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Marrakech or Fes
Stop At: Atlas Mountains
If there is something unforgettable in the desert, it is sunrise. After contemplating this moment, we will take the camels again to go to a hotel where we can shower and have breakfast.
Passing the Palm Grove of Tafilalet and the town of Rissani (origin of the Alauí dynasty) we will arrive at Alnif, where we will take the road that crosses the Anti Atlas mountain range. Amazed by the mountainous landscapes we will arrive at Tazarine (an important Berber village), N’kob and, finally, the Draa Valley and its surprising palm grove.
After crossing the Anti Atlas through the Tizi n Tnifift port (1660 meters) we will arrive in Ouarzazate, where we will stop for lunch. After lunch we will continue the way to Marrakech.
We will be back at your hotel around 7:00 p.m.
