Day trips from Marrakesh – Ourika Valley –

Today we leave Marrakech for a day trip to the picturesque Ourika Valley. We have chosen the hottest day of our trip for a hike to the impressive Asgaour waterfalls. Our son is only half enthusiastic about the idea at first – a classic sign of the pre-pubescent phase. But often tempers change faster than expected and we are excited to see how the mood will develop over the course of the day.

The Ourika Valley offers breathtaking landscapes and a refreshing change from the urban impressions of Marrakech. The hike to the waterfalls will certainly be a highlight of the trip and we hope that the natural beauty and spirit of adventure will quickly inspire our son to take the tour. It will be a great opportunity to experience the Moroccan landscape up close and maybe even spot a smile or two during the hike.

After over an hour we reach Setti Fatma, a mountain village in the foothills of the High Atlas. The small town is located 65 kilometers south of Marrakech and is the starting point for smaller hikes in the mountains and the Asgaour waterfalls.
