Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Telouet – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Pass By: High Atlas Mountains, 40020 Morocco
This memorable trip starts with the scenic drive from Marrakech over the Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2’260 m), where you can spot the traditional Berber villages with its inhabitants working and chatting at the roadside. We can stop in a local co-operative run by women who extract the Argan oil from the trees and discover how it is processed into cooking oil and cosmetics. You can taste and buy the products if you like.
Stop At: Telouet Kasbah, Telouet Morocco
Continue through the breathtaking landscape to Telouet. This fortress was occupied by Thami el Glaoui before he was expelled by independence efforts. One section has unfortunately disintegrated into red sand, but you can still visit the beautiful rooms with mosaic tiles and wood carvings. Visit the Kasbah together with a local guide.

Stop At: Ait Ben Haddou, Ait Ben Haddou, Souss-Massa
Shortly before the desert capital Ouarzazate, you have the opportunity to visit the famous Kasbah Aït-Ben-Haddou, the fortified clay city with its numerous ksars and kasbahs, where several famous movies such as Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and Prince of Persia have been shot.

Stop At: Taourirt Kasbah, Avenue Mohammed V, Ouarzazate 45000 Morocco
After your lunch break in a typical restaurant in Aït-Ben-Haddou or Ouarzazate, you can visit the old kasbah of Ouarzazate named Taourirt or have a look at the movie museum just on the other side of the road.

Stop At: El Kelaa M’gouna, El Kelaa M’gouna, Souss-Massa
Continue along the road until Kelaa M’Gouna, the center of the Rose Valley. Here, we’ll make a stop for a coffee or tea, and you have the possibility to visit one of the local women’s cooperations, where you can buy beauty products of Rose water. After we drive further to the Dades Valley, where we stay overnight.

Continue your journey through the Valley of the 1’000 Kasbahs to the Dades Valley, where we stay overnight.

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Saghro Mountains – Nkob – Draa Valley – Zagora – Erg Chigaga
Stop At: Jbel Saghro, Morocco
Today, you will leave the Dades valley and take a small way through the Saghro-Mountains, a region secluded from the “big tourism”. You can explore beautiful landscapes and maybe even visit a Nomad family to have some tea and see how they live with their kettle.
If you like to, you have the possibility to do some charity and buy food or children’s toys for example to give direct help to the nomad families.

Stop At: Nkob, Nkob, Souss-Massa
Have lunch in Nkob, overlooking the impressive Draa Valley with its huge palm groves.

Stop At: Tamgrout, Tamgrout, Souss-Massa
Along the way to the Desert, we stop at a Saadian town of the 16th century which is called Tamegroute. There, we are able to visit an old coran library and a subterranean Kasbah together with a local guide. Tamegroute is also famous for its pottery shops.

Stop At: M’Hamid, M’Hamid, Souss-Massa
M’hamid is the end of the Draa valley as well as the end of civilization. We’ll make a short coffee stop there before we continue in direction Erg Chigaga, passing through Ouled Driss with its old Kasbah and then taking the 4×4 piste through the desert. We’ll arrive in your desert camp before sunset. Hop on a camel and walk at the desert pace along the dunes with its diverse colors. We’ll arrive at the desert camp where you’ll pass the night in a nomad tent or under the shining stars in the middle of impressive sand dunes.

Stop At: Erg Chigaga، Morocco
Settle in your private tent and drink some mint tea before the traditional dinner is served. You can spend the night watching for shooting stars or dance around the camp fire to the beat of the desert drums.

Day 3: Erg Chigaga Dunes – Iriki – Foum Zguid – Anti Atlas – Oasis Fint – Ouarzazate

Today, you can get up early to enjoy the first rays of sunlight over the desert. Enjoy your breakfast in the camp before the journey with the 4×4 car starts.

Stop At: Iriki, Morocco
Discover the the old Paris-Dakar road to Foum Zguid and cross the Iriki lake, which is a temporary wet land during rain periods. In this national park you’ll have the chance to spot some wild animals like lizards, snakes, gazelles and even hyenas with a little luck.

Stop At: Tazenakht, Morocco
Lunch will be served in the berber village Taznakht. This small town is famous for its berber carpet cooperations. You are welcome to attend a detailed demonstration of how the women of the area are producing the colorfully masterpieces which can also bring some oriental flair to your house.

Stop At: Oasis Fint, Ouarzazate 30120 Morocco
After lunch along the way, we’re heading to Ouarzazate over the Anti Atlas Mountains.You’ll continue the tour to the Oasis Fint, where you will enjoy your traditional Mint Tea at a local family’s home. You have time to explore the quiet and peaceful oasis at the river together with a guide and learn about the local life of the friendly inhabitants.

Continue your journey through the Anti Atlas to Ouarzazate , where we stay overnight.

Stop At: Atlas Film Studio, Km 5, road of Marrakech BP 28, Ouarzazate 45000 Morocco
Today, we’ll start with the visit of the Atlas Corporation film studios, where you can discover the diverse sets and listen to the anecdotes of the multiple movies and actors. Several famous movies like Gladiator, Babel, Prince of Persia, and recently The Physician have been shot in those studios. Guided tour of the movie studios in a group – about 60 min duration

After the visit of Atlas Film Studio, we pass the High Atlas mountains over the Tizi n’Tichka pass with scenic views along the road in the Ounila Valley and many opportunities to take photos. End of your tour with drop off at your accommodation in Marrakech or at the meeting point.
