Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades
Stop At: Marrakech, Marrakech, Marrakech-Safi
For our shared small group Merzouga 3 days 2 nights desert tour, our friendly driver will pick you up from your hotel in Marrakech at 7am. we leave Marrakech venturing through the magnificent Atlas Mountains and the pass of Tichka (2260 m), offering an impressive landscape in the heart of the Atlas Mountain chain to Ouarzazate where many famous movies have been shot such Alexander the Great, The Mummy, The jewel of the Nile, Kingdom of heaven Etc…The scenery is absolutely stunning. We stop in the kasbah of Ait Benhaddou one of the most spectacular fortresses in the South of Morocco and a UNESCO world heritage site. Lunch in Ait benhadou then continuation to Ouarzazate “The Hollywood of Africa”.

We continue our journey to the valley of Roses known for its annual festival during the roses harvest in May. Spend the night with dinner in Dades valley in an auberge with a traditional Berber architecture and views of the mountains and valley.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga desert camp
Stop At: Gargantas del Todra, Tinerhir 45800 Morocco
The second day of our Marrakech to Fes desert tour three days after breakfast we´ll enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the Dadées Valley from one strategic lookout in the mountains, from there we can appreciate the great number of kasbahs and the scenic characteristics of each one. A very good asphalt road leads up the valley from the city of Tinerhir to the gorge and then to the desert. After some stops on the way we´ll reach the Todra Gorges. The scenery is spectacular. Local people live in the area and can be seen in their adobe villages. Thanks to its rock sides with many uneven surfaces, these gorges are popular among rock climbers.
After a short walk in the Todra gorges you´l have free time for lunch in Tinejdad or Touroug.

Stop At: Merzouga, Merzouga, Draa-Tafilalet
We continue our way to the desert to reach the spectacular dunes of Merzouga. We´ll take there a camel ride of one hour to our nomad camp located in the middle of a sea of dunes (Erg Chebbi). Before dinner we´ll see the sunset at the top of a dune for then sleep in a tent under a beautiful starry sky.

Day 3: Merzouga – Alnif – Tazarine – Agdez – Marrakech
Stop At: Merzouga, Merzouga, Draa-Tafilalet
The next day will be an early sunrise camel hike through the Erg Chebbi dunes and back to the lodge. Here we will have breakfast, we will then meet up with our vehicle and drive back to Ouarzazate.

Stop At: Ouarzazate, Ouarzazate, Draa-Tafilalet
We will drive back through the winding roads of lush palm groves through the Draa Valley. After some more leisure time and an opportunity to have lunch, we will travel back to Marrakech and through the High Atlas Mountains.
Your 3 day group desert tour will end in Marrakech at about 7pm. Of course this time is also merely an estimate.
