Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Aït Benhaddou – High Atlas – Telouet – Skoura – Dades Canyon valley

Stop At: Tizi n Tichka, Imlil Village, Ouarzazate 45000 Morocco
Pickup from Marrakech at 7:00 am. We will drive for approximately 2 hours through the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi ‘n Tichka pass, stopping for photos along the way, and stopping to have breakfast.
Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Telouet Kasbah, Telouet Morocco
We will stop to visit the town of Telouet and its ancient 17th century kasbah.

Telouet Kasbah is a Kasbah along the former route of the caravans from the Sahara over the Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. The kasbah was the seat of the El Glaoui family’s power, thus sometimes also called the Palace of Glaoui. Its construction started in 1860 and it was further expanded in later years.

Stop At: Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou, Douar Ait Ben Haddou, Ait Ben Haddou 45000 Morocco
Then, we will drive in the direction of Ouarzazate where we will visit the UNESCO protected Aït Benhaddou Kasbah.

Aït Benhaddou is a historic ighrem or ksar along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech in present-day Morocco. It is considered a great example of Moroccan earthen clay architecture and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.

Stop At: Ouarzazate, Ouarzazate, Draa-Tafilalet
We will have lunch here and then visit the Atlas Film Studios.

Ouarzazate is a city south of Morocco’s High Atlas mountains, known as a gateway to the Sahara Desert. Its huge Taourirt Kasbah, home to a 19th-century palace, has views over the rugged local landscape, which features in several movies. Northwest is the fortified red-earth city of Aït Ben Haddou.

Stop At: El Kelaa M’gouna, El Kelaa M’gouna, Souss-Massa
Kelâat M’Gouna or Tighremt NImgunen is a city in Tinghir Province, Drâa-Tafilalet, Morocco. According to the 2019 census it has a population of 38,140. This town constitutes an economic and social center for the region, for its very animated nature. Kelâat M’Gouna is most known for the “Roses Festival” which takes place in the city every year in May.

Stop At: Dades Gorges, R704 Atlas Mountains, Boumalne Dades 45350 Morocco
Afterwards, we will drive to Dades , a town that overlooks many other beautiful kasbahs, in the direction of Dades Valley. The night will be spent at a hotel in Dades Valley.

Day 2: Dades gorges > Todra Gorge > Erfoud > Merzouga > Camel Trek > Desert Camp

Stop At: Morocco, Morocco
After the breakfast, we will drive to Todgha city to explore Todra Gorge, and then go to Tinjdad village where we will stop for lunch.
After lunch, we will pass through the towns of Arfoud and Rissani In the direction of Merzouga, home of Erg Chebbi, the tallest sand dunes in Morocco. We will arrive at the hotel in the late afternoon/early evening, where you will have some time to relax by the swimming pool and have berber tea. Around 5:30pm, we will ride the camels from the hotel for about 1h30 through the desert dunes. We will arrive at the berber tents, have some time to relax, drink berber tea with nomads at the camp, enjoy the sandboarding in the dunes, and go over to the dunes to watch the sunset. Dinner will be at the camp, followed by music around the campfire. Overnight in the berber tent.

Day 3: Merzouga > Rissani > Draa Valley > Ouarzazate > Marrakech

Stop At: Souss-Massa, Souss-Massa
We will wake up early in the morning to see the sunrise and after you will have time in the camp to enjoy the sandboard if you like it, to have breakfast and take a shower . Then we will ride camels back to Merzouga to the hotel for meeting your driver. After that we will come back to marrakech with a stop on the way back for lunch. We will arrive around 7.00pm.
