We had a fantastic day in the Atlas Mountains with Atlas and Sahara Day Tours. Mustapha was very efficient and quick to respond to emails regarding the day and our reservation. Rashid picked us up from our Riad in Marrakech promptly in the morning and drove us into the mountains. His English was very good and he allowed us to stop at various points along the route to take pictures. He also told us about the places we were passing along the way. Once we arrived we had a cooking lesson and learnt how to make beef Tagine. The Riad staff and chef were extremely nice and let us take an active role in the cooking! We were then taken on a 2.5 hour walk in the surrounding area (passing waterfalls and mint tea stops along the way!) with Hassan who was very knowledgeable and willing to answer all our questions about the mountain communities and the nature. We ended our day with the tagine we had made previously. Rashid then drove us back to our Riad in Marrakech. All in all a very enjoyable way to experience the Moroccan mountains. We would recommend the tour to anyone. Definitely remember a camera and trainers for walking, plus a jumper and sun cream as it’s cold but the sun is strong!
