Visit the East side of El Yunque Rainforest and enjoy a 30-minute hike to the first waterfall. Admire the landscape, swim, rope swing, or free dive from multiple heights. Further up after a 15-minute hike, there is another watering hole with a waterslide and cliff jump into the river. Learn about the rainforest’s history, iguanas, guava trees, bamboo, and century-old trees. This adventure is ideal for nature lovers seeking an authentic Puerto Rican rainforest experience. Good physical condition is required; the hike is natural, very muddy, and fun. Transportation not provided. No Uber or taxis allowed. Upon arriving in Ceiba, we will commence with a 25-30 minute hike, which includes a brief river trek. Once we enter the outskirts of the forest, you will climb through rocks and trees to reach the pristine natural pools and waterfalls. Here, you can also swing from a rope or cliff jump. We will spend some time here before proceeding to the next stop, an advanced hike to higher natural pools that lead to exciting natural waterslides. We then return through the same path, with the option to swim part of the way. Throughout this excursion, your certified guide will share important information about the only tropical rainforest in the US Forest System, as well as intriguing facts about Puerto Rico's culture and history, while ensuring you have a safe, enjoyable, and informative experience. On this tour, you'll be picked up at your place of stay and driven to El Yunque National Forest, which is about an hour from San Juan. You’ll experience El Yunque National Forest through the eyes of our passionate guides. You’ll be guided and listen to live documentaries about the cultural significance of this place to our Puerto Rican ancestors.
