Embera tour is an unique experience that combines the visit to one of the main indigenous group in Panama and having contact with the amazing nature in the Central-American rainforest. After picking you up at your hotel, we will go to Alajuela Lake where we will board a ¨piragua¨, a traditional indigenous boat, heading to the Canyon in the Chagres River. Later we will go to Tusipono Embera, a small traditional village located in the bank of the Chagres River in the middle of the rainforest. The Emberas will show their traditions, their way of dressing and how they elaborate their handcrafts. They will perform their traditional dances and music and we will have time for interacting directly with them. We will enjoy lunch prepared by the Embera community.

The day begins with the Hotel pick up to proceed to thePier, where you will embark for a motored canoe ride, in the main water tributary of the Famous Panama Canal Gatun Lake. At arrival, you will be receive with a traditional greeting with music, they will also give you a short presentation about the Emberá culture, including dances, craft work, traditions, ecc.. The lunch is prepared by the indigenous and consist in fish wrapped in plantain leaves with Patacones. Before returning to the pier, you will have spare time to buy some craft, get an Embera tattoo or simply walk around.

You will also visit a small indigenous market where you may purchase artisan items created by the natives themselves. Lunch will be provided as well. You will then travel upriver to a beautiful waterfall and hike a short distance through the rainforest while seeing birds, the occasional monkey, fish, and various other forms of wildlife.
