Traditional Japanese Washi Papermaking- Kyoto morning
You can make traditional Japanese Washi paper from raw materials. Enjoy making a piece of washi paper and designing it using dried, pressed seasonal local flowers and leaves. After drying the paper, you can craft it into a set of postcards, or table-mat, or wraparound lampshade, or tapestry panel.
You can proceed with it under the guidance of the instructor, in a relaxing atmosphere. While the paper is dried, you will be able to watch a short video of the traditional paper-making method which has been continued for over one thousand years.

Cooking Class: make a local delicacy in a Japanese house
'Dango noodle soup' is made by kneading wheat flour (or rice flour) with water, letting it rest for a while, then stretching and tearing the dough by hand before adding it to the soup. It's a hearty, wholesome dish made with local, seasonal vegetables such as 'taro' potato and burdock, then seasoned with miso or soy sauce.
This is the only cooking class available in Beppu hosted within a century-old Japanese house – a truly 'local' experience!
Osaka: Private Japanese Traditional Ceramics Experience
We offer a pottery workshop in Osaka with an English, Spanish and Catalan speaking potter (the explanation can also be done in Japanese). While we talk about Japanese gastronomy and culture, the visitors can experience the traditional way of making pottery in Japan.

This calligraphy workshop focuses on creating text related to the surrounding hot spring region of Beppu. Participants can learn how to write words such as '温泉' – 'onsen' (meaning 'hot spring') and '地獄' – 'jigoku' (meaning 'hell'), under the guidance of a friendly local instructor. It was built in Machiya style and was used to be a house of Shoya, the biggest merchant in the city at that time. You can have a look around the unique inside.
We will show you traditional life style such as Koto, a Japanese harp and an old sawing machine, which have been carefully stored for a long time in Kura, an old style storage in back of the house.
The kitchen is made of Sake barrel lids came from a local brewery.
It’s located on the second floor, you will see the beautiful Japanese garden.
We provide aprons, so you don’t need to bring anything.
We will give you a recipe that you can cook at your country.

Cooking , basically prepared Okonomiyaki with pork. I can arrange pork to shrimp. If you don’t want pork, please request shrimp in advance.
