Start this tour towards Pico do Arieiro, the highest mountain accessible by car and the third highest on the island (1818m). Here you will be amazed by the fantastic views over the mountains and the island. Descent towards Ribeiro Frio, located in the Laurissilva forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where nature lives in perfect harmony. Continuing along the north coast, pass through Faial and arrive at Santana, a village known for its typical and original thatched roof houses. After lunch, admire Ponta de São Lourenço, with several rock formations and impressive views. Arrive in Machico, a historic town where the discoverers first landed in 1419. Return to the Hotel.

Admire the spectacular views from Cabo Girão, the highest cape in Europe at an altitude of 1,900 feet (580 meters), before arriving in the lively village of Ribeira Brava. Stroll around the village and admire the beautiful church of São Bento, then head north across the dramatic Paul da Serra plateau. Follow a scenic route around the northwest coast, driving through the Ribeira da Janela valley, then arrive in Porto Moniz in time for lunch or a dip at a natural pool, before heading to Seixal, where the Véu da Noiva viewpoint offers impressive views over the surrounding cliffs and waterfalls. Returning to Funchal, stop to take photos from the Encumeada viewpoint, then drive through the UNESCO-listed landscapes of the Laurissilva forest.

This trail begins at Ribeiro Frio in the municipality of Santana and follows the pathway accompanying the levada of Serra do Faial at an elevation of 860 metres up to the station where the waters divide, descending from there to the area of Lamaceiros and terminating at the Portela belvedere in the municipality of Machico.

On this tour we leave Funchal in the direction of Poiso with an altitude of 1412m and then climb through the mountains to Pico do Arieiro at a height of 1818m. This is one of the most beautiful places with breathtaking views of the island of Madeira. We stay here for a while and walk a little. We then descend to Ribeiro Frio where we are in the Laurissilva Forest and we visit the trout nursery. We continue our adventure along old paths passing Cedro Gordo and Cruzinhas until we reach the Village de Santana where we will visit the typical straw houses (Colmo). After this stop we descend to the village of Faial with amazing views down to the sea and then continue towards Ponta de São Lourenço in the east of Madeira. This part of the Island is much drier and arid, but with a unique beauty due to its cliffs and colors. It is a special activity because it takes place in the afternoon with few people on the route with the possibility of seeing the Sunset over the clouds in the Magical Forest of Fanal, where we will walk through the magical forest of the Laurissilva natural heritage of UNESCO since 1999. Endemic plants will always be a constant along the route, valleys, mountains and all its surrounding landscape. At the end of the walk, we will watch the sunset, weather conditions permitting, in a magical place such as the Fanal forest with its centuries-old trees. Included: transport, insurance, certified mountain guide and Turismo de Portugal License.
