This is a tour throughout which guests will visit Stalin's museum in his birth town of Gori where it will be possible to see the house he was born in, the wagon he was traveling with while he was the head of the Soviet Union and the museum which describes his Bolshevik life. Moreover, the main part of the tour includes the visit to a mining town of Chiatura which gives the real Soviet feeling and looks exactly it looked like 50 years ago. Also during the tour guests will be able to visit Katskhi pillar with a monastery on top of it which is one of the strangest natural structures in the whole country.

After picking up in Coimbra, we head towards the complex of the Roman Ruins of Conímbriga. At the Monographic Museum of Conímbriga, we will discover a wide collection of mosaics, sculptures, coins and numerous domestic and agricultural utensils. Outside where the excavations took place, we will visit the aristocratic houses, and all of public buildings. We go back in time with over 2,000 years of history. After the visits, we return to Coimbra.

The location site of Conímbriga was populated by the romans around 139 B.C., in a region that contained previous signs of prehistoric occupation, establishing the prosperous capital of Lusitânia. During the rule of Emperor Augusto, Conímbriga grew into a more urban scale including an amphitheater, thermal baths and Roman Forum. Though the most impressive remains of that period are the domus – manor houses – and the insulae. These structures are so well preserved that you will feel like travelling back in time! We will visit the locations of the old town of Conímbriga while learning about the daily livings during that period and understand the strategic location on the territory that later would become Portugal. Uplistsikhe (literally “Lord’s Fortress“) is an abandoned rock-hewn town, which once has played an important role in Georgian history. The place was founded in the Late Bronze Age, around 1000 BC, and continued to be inhabited until 13th century AD. The Joseph Stalin Museum is a museum in Gori, Georgia dedicated to the life of Joseph Stalin, the leader of the Soviet Union, who was born in Gori.
