The sea around Muscat is rich in life due to its location and seasonal cold-water currents that keep our corals healthy and full of life. Dolphin's hunt and travel along the coast of Oman from Musandam to Salalah, and Muscat has a fair share of sightings of spinner dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, and common dolphins. We also see plenty of whale sharks (from May to October), false killer whales, and occasional sightings of humpback whales and orcas. On rare occasions, we can see Arabian and blue whales. Not for the faint of heart, this is one of the most technical and continuous sections of whitewater in the nation. Sections of this run plummet at a rate of over 100 feet per mile. Teamwork and the ability to follow instructions are key to success on this run. Guides will instruct guests how to follow on-water commands and how to stay safe in adverse situations. Swimming skills, although they may not be used, are a must when traveling on this section of Clear Creek.

The 8 day Lemosho variation is the ideal schedule for this route. On the 8 day Lemosho route, the trek from Barranco to Barafu is broken up into two days, allowing for a short day just prior to the summit attempt. This is important because summit day begins very early, around midnight, so climbers are sleep deprived going into the toughest day on the mountain. By having a short day beforehand, climbers can be better rested.

This intermediate ascent and descent is the secret to a successful acclimatization and is the reason that this route has a high success rate.

MARANGU ROUTE 6 DAY begins and ends at Kilimanjaro Mountain Resort in Marangu. The Machame route is one of my most recommended routes to climb Kilimanjaro as it offers great acclimatisation, allowing the climbers to “walk high, sleep low”, and as a result enjoy one of the highest summit success rate of all the routes to climb Mt Kilimanjaro. It goes by the nickname of “The Whisky Route” although no whisky is available! This 7-day program to climb Kilimanjaro offers a great acclimatisation and allows the pre-summit day to be split into 2, which means that you have 2 shorter days of trekking prior to your summit ascent. This really helps and has proved a great success, as well as a more enjoyable way to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
