You will get a wonderfull experience. At first you are going to do a 60 minutes tango class, where you are going to learn the basics movements. You will be able to dance in a Milonga after that. When we finish the class, we are going to taste some home made empanadas, with a typical wine (Malbec) from Argentina. The experience is inside a typical and original Conventillo (popular house of the inmigrants). So, you will have the chance of see how the inmigrants used to live.

We are foreign dancers living in Buenos Aires for more than eight years with more than 7,000 people from all over the world who lived our experience. This culture changed our lives, and our way of giving something back to Tango is to share our passion with the desire that you fall in love and want to continue dancing in your country of origin. With us, you will feel like a local tango. We do not want you to live the tourist tango, but you can enjoy a real milonga night. You will be accompanied by two tango dancers who have been dancing in milongas for 20 years. You will know the codes, movements and the history of tango. The activity is semi private, we handle small groups so they feel accompanied and can learn and ask everything they want!

Instead of booking a way too expensive commercial show, in this tour you'll get to know the real Tango underground world of Buenos Aires! After an (optional) Tango class you will get to know an authentic "Milonga" (=a place where locals dance Tango). We will be "off the beaten track" and I will tell you everything about how to dance Tango, the social codes in the Milongas and how Tango has changed over time (nowadays there is even Queer Tango, electro Tango etc). Your guide is Valerie, an expat from Europe who is an internationally known Tango teacher and Milonga organiser. In the BA Tango scene everybody knows her and she loves to build bridges between travelers and her local Milonguero friends. She is very passionate about Tango and happy to answer all your questions!

In the heart of a candombero neighborhood of Montevideo (where the Conventillo Gaboto used to be) you can enjoy this spectacular show with an important musical and choreographic display of candombe, tango, milonga and folklore. The promise of the place is to achieve that its visitors enjoy an exceptional show in an environment in which the smallest details have been taken care of with the greatest rigor. Faint lights, lighted candles at each table create an intimate atmosphere. A red carpet unfolds all around the dance floor. We will start the evening with absolute beginners tango class. The class is structured to teach you some basic steps as well a provide a strong foundation and understanding of the dance. After the class you will have the chance join me and other tango dancers at a local milonga—tango parlor. We always have great seats in the middle of all the action. You will learn about the history of tango and the secret codes and rules of the milonga. We will hear amazing tango music and watch the locals dance around the floor. We may even be surprised with live music or a performance by professional dancers.

Our tango classes are fun, interactive with holistic approach. We guide and assist our students on the process of reconnect with their body’s awareness, tango posture, walk with individual practice / and in partner, to relax the mind and reconnect with our body’s natural intelligence and elegance, as an internal profound experience with ourselves while dancing with someone. My name is Juan, founder of Experience Baires, and together with Gonzalo and Magdalena, we want to show the authentic tango scene to those who want to enjoy this intimate cultural expression. Enjoy a private Tango class during this half-day Tango tour, with our staff of professional dancers. After the private tango lesson, continue the tour with a visit to a ballroom where 'Practicas,' are held.
