This site is just a few kilometers from the village of Chacchoben from which it's name derive. The translation of the Mayan word "Chacchoben" refers to "The Place Of The Red Corn". The structures at this site are characterized by large temples and massive platforms dated from 700 AD.

Madeiran Traditional Dinner


We partner with a local restaurant to bring you to this unique dinner where we take you to a restaurant and you'll experience the typical dish of the Island. While you are eating a delicious meal at the same time you'll see a live performance of a Folk Group from Madeira. The menu of this excellent dinner is as follows: Madeira Wine glass as a starter, Bolo do Caco with garlic butter the traditional Madeiran bread which goes along with the first plate Tomato or Caldo Verde soup. After, the main dish: the famous Espetada, the tasteful skewered beef in a stick, served together with french fries, vegetables, salad and fried maize, typical from Madeira. Afterward, you get to chose the dessert where you can pick coffee mousse or fruit salad; then you get a coffee and a digestive Madeira Licour. To drink with meals, you can choose red wine, white wine, beer, water, and soda beverages. You can repeat the food and drinks but with moderation.

After this warm welcome, we will get to try milking cows by hand. Anyone can participate in this experience, especially the little ones. Next, we will participate in the process of extracting cane juice and have the opportunity to taste the juice with combined with a variety of ingredients such as liquor, peppermint, and other products obtained from the farm. We will visit a small archaeological ranch where we can observe different indigenous pieces and use them in the creation of artisanal cocoa. At the end of the tour, we will share a lunch made with farm-fresh products such as cheese, tortillas, hash, and more. Located in the commune of Talagante, 1 hour from Santiago, we find Viña Undurraga, one of the most beautiful and oldest in the country. Its origins date back to 1885, founded by Don Francisco Undurraga, who asked the French landscaper George Henry Dubois to design its beautiful parks. During the Tour we will take a tour of the vineyard, we will discover the strains that this vineyard cultivates and the vinification process of the different wines produced here. Then, there will be a walk through the hundred-year-old underground cellars, to end the tour in the place where the "Gente de Tierra" collection is located, which shows Mapuche life and art. Melissa learned these family recipes from her mother and then perfected them with time. Today she re-creates traditional meals and adds a modern twist to make her own recipes. Melissa is very keen on showcasing the rich culture and heritage of her country through its food and that why she will teach you some traditional Costa Rican dishes that she grew up eating with a modern twist; using local, seasonal and fresh produce. Melissa lives with her husband and their well behaved dog in a beautiful home close to the beach and city center in Jaco.
