Enjoy this spectacular trip to “El Morado” Natural Monument National Park, located at 93 kms (57 miles) from Santiago.  The starting point of the hike is in Baños Morales, a mountain village at 1,900 meters of altitude (6,200 ft). The trail leads to the beautiful San Francisco Glacier lookout at 2,500 meters (8,200 ft) and the Morales Glacier lagoon. During the hike we will have a refreshing stop at “Aguas de Panimávida”, iron-rich carbonated waters that directly spills out from the earth. Difficulty level is HIGH. This tour is recommended for people in good physical shape. The first hour of the hike is steep and then it becomes flat. The difference of altitude is of 600 meters (1,900 ft).

From the center of Cusco, head toward Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca Mountain) for an amazing journey into undiscovered lands. Our tour Horse ride at El Morado, is a pleasant 2hs30min horse ride through the most spectacular scenery that we can find so close to the metropolitan area. Starting from the area of ​​the Cajon de las Arenas, we will visit points of interest such as the ancient Morado hanging glacier. An alluring hike up the river to the Morales Lagoon with breathtaking views of the photogenic south face of Mount El Morado and the glaciers that rest over the water shaped sedimentary rocks. The first section is the steepest of the route, nevertheless quite friendly. After about an hour hike up we will stop in the sector of "Panimávidas Mineral Waters", where we can admire the stunning scenery that provides the nearby mountains and unique groundwater outcrops resting on stained bodies that tell us about the presence of mineral concentrations such as iron. Then, we continue walking by the now almost flat trail until we get to Morales Lagoon, propitious place to rest and recharge energies with a delicious lunch while we contemplate the great Andean scene. This excursion can be made all year round, even during snowy winters with the help of snowshoes, or in spring and summer, when the valley reflourishes.
