Create an art piece that can decorate your room with a gentle light! In this workshop, you will create An Origami lamp and Mizuhiki knot belt. LED light passes through washi paper, gently lighting up the space with a very soft light. It brings pressure to both the eyes and the heart. You will fold and glue several sheets of handmade washi paper in a bellows-like manner. Inserting a small lamp inside the bellows-like washi paper, the ramp shines with gentle and warm light. Additionally, you will create a mizuhiki knot ornament for the belt. At the end of the session, we offer Japanese sweets with "Japanese paper tea" that is not offered elsewhere. Enjoy the beauty and potential of washi paper by making your art piece. Please be informed that this workshop requires detailed skills that may not be suitable for young children. Have your hands-on experience in a workshop in the historic center where you will create your own souvenir in Gaudí´s mosaic style called Trencadís. Why is there a dragon on the roof top? During the walking tour we will make the connection from medieval history and legends to what inspired Gaudí and other architects when designing buildings along the grand Passeig de Gracia. From street pavement to lamp posts – all have a story that we want to tell you! The walk will lead us to Angelika´s workshop where you will learn the mosaic art named “Trencadís”. This technique – using materials such as shards of glass or ceramics – can be found on Gaudí´s work. After a short introduction you will learn the basics, handling of tools and how to create your first masterpiece such as a fridge magnet or the top of a box.

Take a break from your day and come and learn from a local artist how to make a watercolor painting, immortalizing a place, site, typical detail of the city of Porto, while you relax in a well-being activity, possibly portraying some place or historical heritage. Create your own art with watercolors! No prior knowledge is necessary, and no level of demand is required, just learn something new, with relaxation and pleasure, thus taking a little bit of Porto with you. You can bring a print of a photograph of yourself, or several images will be provided during the workshop to support or inspire you. Your work can be representative or creative and I will be there to guide you. At the end you will take your work with you, which you can then frame to remember later! During the workshop you will have music, coffee, tea and cookies to make you feel more comfortable.

Surprise yourself with a new, unique decoration!  In this workshop, you will learn to create Art Nouveau-style plants, flower and other motives from stained glass. For this, you will learn how to do the famous Tiffany Technique, that is used to make Tiffany lamps.  You can (but don't have to) bring your own sketch to the class. Depending on your idea, you will cut out 5 to 7 pieces of glass, grind them and put them together with copper foil. Our glass artist will help you soldier them. We are able to arrange an individual class to create bigger pieces as well. You can take your decoration home with you right after the workshop .
